Juvenile women and girls furthermore emerge to enjoy numbers, science and expertise subjects more than their male equivalent with 22 % more young women elderly 7-11 ‘enjoying conceive and technology‘ than young men, and 22% more young men than young women ‘not enjoying science and numbers at all’, a tendency which is mirrored to some span at age 11-16.

I think young people (in general) don't get into science because they aren't stimulated to do so from the early years. Instead, they are taught to use the technology (usually just for entertainment purposes) but not understand how it works. Ready solutions instead of curiosity. Sad but true.
